Tell Me Jesus

I can’t believe 

what you did for me 

Hanging on 

that precious tree

 

Beaten, whipped

Bruised and bolted

It is finished 

words were spoken

 

Tell me Lord, what did you hear? 

What did you hear upon your ear?

 

Earth is quaking

Rumble after

Weeping loudly

Cries of laughter

 

Tell me Lord, what did you see? 

What did you see surrounding thee? 

 

Evil presence all around

As I’m lowered to the ground

Carried off in roughly fashion

To my grave they lock the hatches

 

Tell me Lord, what happened next? 

What happened next? What happened next?

 

What happened next to their dismay 

Was not in their plans that day 

Rock swings wide, Door is open

All my chains gone and broken

 

Alive and breathing

Here and well

Just the beginning

of the story I’ll tell

 

Wow! Thank you Jesus for your story!

I will use it for Your glory

I will treasure it in my heart 

And from it I will not depart

 

You are my hero

It is true
