Check On Your Friends
Jesus said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
Jesus asked his friends to look out for him because he was troubled to the point of wanting to die. While Jesus was praying for his life and ours, his friends fell asleep.
Friends, are we sleeping on our friends who are suffering? Take inventory of your friends and family today. If there are any overwhelmed or full of sorrow would you watch over and pray for them so they won’t fall into temptation. As Jesus said, “ The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”
I don’t know what temptation Jesus was resisting but people you know today might be resisting the temptation to take their own life, drink alcohol or use drugs to escape their pain and sorrow.
Rise and check in on a friend today. It could be the difference between life and death. It’s the least we can do for a Savior who continually watches and prays over us.
If you are resisting temptation, call on the name of Jesus and he will save you!
