Day 16: Let it Snow
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. Matthew 25:13
It’s good that we can watch the weather and know each day what to expect especially on days like today when a lot of snow is predicted to fall. The weather forecast gives us the opportunity to plan and prepare. If you’re like me, you’ve taken inventory of your children’s snow gear to ensure they have everything they need for a fun day in the snow. However, the weather forecast is not always accurate. We don’t know for certain if it will snow at all or how much it will snow until that day comes. It is better to have taken the time to prepare than if you had not. Nothing is worse than a big snow falling and not having what you need.
Unlike the weather, the forecast of Jesus returning is certain. However, in light of the signs, no one can predict the day or hour he will come. Whether he knocks on your door or appears in the sky, it is better to prepare for him than to not. It is better to believe in him than to not. It is better to know him than to not. Jesus is the only certainty in this world and the only One worth watching for. Every day is like a snow day with Jesus.
