Day 10: Your Heavenly Value
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Luke 12: 6-7
With almost two weeks to Christmas, it’s likely you have checked your list more than twice and have had to readjust your budget to ensure you can afford all the gifts you plan on giving. Christmas shopping is serious business and so are the prices. It’s no secret that the cost of some gifts are more expensive than others. Often, it’s the demand for those products that drives up the cost and makes them so expensive. It simply comes down to what people like and what they want the most that can have a direct influence on the products market value. We know that people change their minds more often than they change their underwear so the value and need for products can fluctuate greatly. The truth is that sometimes we allow the opinions of others to influence our self worth and then we will use that to determine our value. The cost to you of lowering your value based on the opinions of others is great and may have less impact on your wallet and more of a negative impact on your self-esteem, happiness and quality of life.
The good news is that your heavenly value never changes and is completely free from the likes, wants, needs and opinions of others. God never changes his underwear and certainly never changes his mind about you! You are worth far more to him than any person or anything found in this world. If he knows how many hairs you have on your head, do you think he could ever forget about you? His love for you is great and is free from conditions or cost. God gifted Jesus to us and Jesus willingly paid the cost for you with his life because he knows just how valuable you are. The cost of believing in Jesus and how much he loves you directly influences your self-esteem and happiness in the most positive way! This Christmas, God would love nothing more than for you to check your list once more and put his son Jesus at the top! Believe in Jesus and discover your real value as seen through the eyes of God and not man.
