Day 4: Good Day Sunshine

But for you who revere my name, the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.  Malachi 4:2

It feels good when you stand in the sunshine.  It feels good to have the warmth from the sun touch your skin.  Just a few moments of soaking in its rays you can feel more relaxed, energized and happier.  Just thinking about it makes me smile and feel good.  There is something very powerful and therapeutic about the natural rays of the sun.  The sun is good and it provides so many wonderful benefits to us each day.  It faithfully rises each morning and brings us light and warmth.  We have food and life because of the sun.  God designed our earth to revolve around the sun and it is good!  God gifted us the sun to bless us with all these things to meet our physical needs because he knows we need them.

In the same way, God gifted Jesus to us to meet our spiritual needs because he knows we need healthy souls just as we need healthy bodies and minds.  God designed our spirits to revolve around Jesus.  He is the center and focus of it all.  Jesus is the light of the world and the Sun within our hearts.  When you stand in the light of Jesus you are filled with the warmth of his touch, you feel relaxed and happy.  That is the healing power of Jesus Christ.  But not only can he heal our spirits but he can also heal our bodies and minds.  He is greater than anything in the world.  And Jesus is more faithful than the rising sun and he fills your soul with excitement and hope for your life!  When you honor God and his son Jesus you receive all these things and more.

So when you step into the sunshine today, pause for a moment and feel the warm healing effects of those rays.  And as you pause, think of Jesus and imagine your life feeling this way any and everywhere you go.  Believe in Jesus and let his healing light fill your heart.

Genesis 1: 3-5, John 8:12
