Easy or Hard. You choose.
Jolie wanted to help me cut up our watermelon this morning. I love it when she volunteers to help! So we began and at first she had a two handed grip on the knife and mine on top of hers. While we were having success cutting the fruit, it felt like I was crushing her little hand underneath mine and it felt hard. It was very uncomfortable and wasn’t working well at all. So I decided to change our positioning. I placed my stronger hand on the knife and she placed hers on top of mine. With my strength, we were able to cut the watermelon faster and much easier. It felt effortless! When we were done, we enjoyed the sweet delicious fruit of our labor!
As God’s children, we always have a choice to lead our own lives or allow God to lead. Our hands, like Jolie’s, are not as strong and require more than one to get the job done. The pressure of life can feel like crushing and cause pain. Life feels hard. When God’s hand is in control of your life, you get his strength and guidance which makes life feel easier and effortless. Either way, you’ll enjoy the sweet fruit but how you get the fruit depends on you! Easy or hard, the choice is yours!! Choose God!
